Imagine an island thousands of miles away with swaying palm trees, pristine beaches and a turquoise lagoon teeming with the world’s most vibrant marine life.
And imagine spending days of utter indulgence with your loved one here.
Dhaalu Atoll, where Angsana Maldives Velavaru Resort & Spa is located, is virgin territory when it comes to tourism. Many of its dive sites, reefs and islands are virtually untouched and definitely worth a day’s visit, or two. From island hopping, dolphin watching to snorkelling safaris and night fishing, you’ll find no lack of activities, excursions and facilities here.
Your much treasured privacy is guaranteed at Angsana Maldives resort on this spacious 60,000 square metre island. Retreat into one of the 79 exquisite villas of Angsana Velavaru Maldives Resort and Spa. Private beachfronts greet your villa doorsteps, while through the doors lie a veritable expanse of luxury. Wake up to views of the Indian Ocean and end the day with sunsets that take your breath away.
The Angsana Velavaru InOcean Villas are an exclusive cluster of 34 two-storey water villas positioned on the edge of the reef, one kilometre away from the island of Velavaru.
Each InOcean Villa has an infinity pool ranging from 21 square metres to 27 square metres, hammock and private access to the glistening Maldives ocean. The Premier and Sanctuary InOcean Villas feature an extended deck with a sala (an open pavilion).
The InOcean Villas are the peak of style and opulence, with amenities including: a flat screen TV, DVD player, stereo system with iPod docking station, Nespresso coffee machine, and a designer bathtub overlooking the Maldives horizon.
There are three categories of villas, from standard to two bedroom villas, ranging in size from 175 square metres to 290 square metres.
A quiet, relaxing island - perfect for those who prefer a slower paced holiday.
Atmosphere: A tranquil and laid-back feel but with an air of luxury. The natural materials and thatched roofs of the buildings create a traditional island feel.
Rooms: Fresh and contemporary decor and good use of space make these rooms a pleasure to spend time in. Most rooms also offer good privacy - ideal for those rooms with private pools/Jacuzzis.
Dining: The main restaurant and bar are on the lagoon side and are both attractive and relaxed. The food is good - however, the buffet can be repetitive.
Activities: Not much in the way of evening entertainment and only a few local excursions. There is snorkelling from the beach on one side of the island - there are also complimentary boat rides twice-daily to the house reef. On the opposite side of the island is a sandy lagoon perfect for swimming and windsurfing. The dive school is very impressive with a wide choice of diving options.
