Explore the flavours of the ancient Spice Route
plus timeless comfort-food favourites – in this all-day indoor-outdoor sunset-view dining venue.
Looking at our tranquil island today, you’d never guess we were at the bustling heart of one of the world’s most important Spice Routes nearly a millennia ago. Ships sailed between Lebanon in the west and India or Sri Lanka in the east, stopping en route for weeks or months at a time on our welcoming shores.
This tasty melting pot of flavours inspired the east-meets-west menu of Tazäa®, with mezzes, shish-kebabs and curries perfect for adventurers. Our modern classics – burgers, soups and salads – set up the whole family for a day of seaside exploration. Don’t leave without dessert – sweet and delicious without any refined sugars.
As dusk falls, the festive mood rises with island music in the restaurant. Time to grab a cocktail and watch the sun dip behind the ocean waves.
Vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free, pork-free, low-salt, low-carb and alcohol-free options are always available. No dishes have refined sugar. Special menus happily arranged for any other dietary requirements (please allow at least 24 hours’ notice).

Feel the sand between your toes and go for a splash in the sea, then recline under a beach umbrella as a waiter brings you an ice-cold cocktail, frothy lager or chilled glass of wine – with or without alcohol. And freshly squeezed fruit juices, thick milkshakes and homemade gelatos will keep kids of all ages happy.
No need to move when it’s time for dinner. Just kick back in your lounger and grab a seat at a table on the deck as you choose from the delicious pastas, risottos, seafood, meat and vegetable-based main dishes.

This might be your first experience of the wonders of the Maldives, but our island has been welcoming visitors and sailors for more than 900 years. And once you’ve set foot on the soft sand glowing in the warm sun, you will know why.

Step this way to peek into a time when the island bustled and hustled with travelers who stopped by for different reasons. They didn’t come here to relax, although they almost certainly did some of that when they arrived, but as a trading post.

Excavations on Maamigili—the island Cora Cora Maldives is on—have revealed more than 60 remarkable finds. And we have also sourced more than 400 fascinating relics from across the Maldives, which we have curated into the Museum of Island Heritage.

When you arrive for check-in, take time to look around the museum gallery in the lobby. Here, you’ll see 17th-century porcelain from China’s Qing dynasty, an oil lamp estimated to be around 1’500 years old from the Early Byzantine era, and impressive cowrie shells, which were used as currency in the 17th century.

In the centre of the island, explore our outdoor site, where you’ll discover ancient memorials dating back 500 years, and perhaps the most extraordinary find on the island—two temple tanks thought to be around 900 years old. These shallow wells were used for bathing and ceremonial purposes, and they are remarkably well preserved.
Finally, visit our 120-year-old traditional Maldivian house, with displays of traditional island life in the 1900s, to get a feel for how it might have been to live on Maamigili year-round—an idea you’ll probably be considering after staying on our sunny shores for a few days.
