Scuba Diving in Maldives

Diving for Kids

Introduce the kids to a captivating world of marine life. A dive experience in the shallow lagoon with an instructor specialised in training young novices. For children between 8 and 9 years, the Bubble Maker programme provides a real scuba diving experience in the Kurumba Maldives lagoon, or on the Kurumba Maldives house reef with a maximum depth of 2 metres.

Discover Scuba Diving

An excellent first-time diving experience. Includes a short introductory course, followed by a shallow water dive in the lagoon. The highlight: a house reef dive or shallow boat dive in the afternoon to hone your newfound skills. Available most days on a request basis and for adults or children aged 10 years and over.

Majaa Recreation

Majaa (in the local language means fun) recreation team is located in the middle of the island. The Majaa team is on hand to help guests choose activities in few different categories such as: Wellness, Fitness, Sports & Various levels of Snorkeling Tours.  In addition to individual activities, a seven-day activity timetable is also available to ensure guests are always entertained.

Snorkelling in Maldives

The Kurumba Maldives lagoon is surrounded by wave breakers, which reduce waves and currents for ideal snorkelling conditions. An average depth of 1 to 1.5 metres. Small coral outcrops abound, filled with vibrant marine life. Just beyond the breakers, a dramatic drop, even greater variety of coral, home to colourful fish, stingrays and turtles.

Snorkelling Equipment and Lessons

Majaa Recreation offers snorkelling equipment and life jacket hire for free.  We also recommend all guest complete our complimentary snorkelling lessons to help you brush up on your skills, know the how, to protect our reef and any local risks that we have in the area. 

House Reef Tours

If you are a beginner, our Majaa Recreation team offers you to experience our guided house reef tour available several times a week. Bookings are required and charges apply. This will allow you to feel comfortable to snorkel with new friends and get orientated with our house reef. 

Night Snorkelling

Night snorkelling is available from Majaa Recreation, to see an entirely different perspective of the reef.

Majaa Kids' Club

Leave the kids in good hands, enjoy your stay stress-free, thanks to the Majaa Kids Club facilities. A spacious recreation centre, built for fun. The team’s winning smiles, naturally gifted with the little ones. Pick them up in the evening, bursting with stories of today’s lessons. Traditional craft-making, beachfront games, new discoveries. Surfing in the Maldives

A short boat ride from Kurumba Maldives, and you’re there: one of the prime surf spots on the planet. In the North Malé Atoll, our experienced instructors cater to students of all skill levels. The roar of the waves. The taste of salt and adrenaline. White foam over azure waters. A sense of victory like nothing you’ve experienced as you ride the barrel to the white sand shore. Surfing season in North Malé Atoll generally runs from mid-April to mid-October.

Jet Ski Safari

One of Kurumba’s most popular activities, an exhilarating experience not to be missed. Visit other islands in the Maldives, snorkel a hidden reef and explore enchanting spots only accessible by Jet Ski. An environmentally friendly approach to jet skiing, using the latest craft with low emissions and noise levels. Get up close with the island’s natural beauty while preserving its quiet harmony.
